James Street group practice is a ‘training practice’. This means that doctors wishing to enter general practice spend six months or more with us in order to gain the experience that they need in order to become a fully accredited family doctor. They are supervised by Dr Jay who is an accredited GP trainer.
As a training practice your medical records may be used for educational purposes, and you may, on a rare occasion, be asked if your consultation can be recorded. This recording will only ever be seen by doctors but you are fully entitled to refuse to be recorded without affecting your right to see the doctor. The recording is destroyed at the end of the training period. Recordings are very helpful in our teaching to help develop the skills of the GP Registrar.
